It is a 3-year Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) COFUND fellowship/project. This project will: i) Develop a novel luminescence method - clast burial luminescence dating, which will greatly improve precision of chronology of glacial landforms. The project will test the method using material from previous British-Irish ice sheet sites with independent age control. ii) Then we will apply the successful method at key sites in the climatically-sensitive ‘Third Pole’ region, to establish a high-quality chronology revealing the timing of glacier fluctuations during the period of rapid climate warming at the end of the last glaciation, to improve our understanding of the likely response of glaciers in this region to a future warming world.
