Biography

Cerys graduated with a first-class honours degree in Physical Geography and Mathematics in 2008. After being awarded a Welsh-Medium Teaching Postgraduate Scholarship by the Centre for the Development of Welsh-medium Higher Education, Cerys completed her PhD in 2012 under the supervision of Dr Sarah Davies, Professor Rhys Jones, Dr Mark Whitehead and Dr Neil Macdonald (University of Liverpool). Cerys has been involved with Welsh-medium teaching within DGES since 2008 but formally joined the Institute’s staff in October 2011 as a Welsh-Medium Teaching Fellow. Following a 9-month period as a Research Assistant at the University of Wales Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies, Cerys commenced her appointment as Welsh-Medium Lecturer in Geography in February 2013, financed by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and Aberystwyth University.
