My research focuses on the identification and characterisation of helminth proteins essential to the parasites survival in the host. The aim of this research is to discover novel vaccine candidates/drug targets and to also gain a deeper understanding of host/parasite interactions. Using bioinformatic approaches, my research also examines the evolution of gene families (such as the SmVAL family) across parasitic and non-parasitic species.
