Gavin’s research interests fall into three main areas: literary representations of class and work; nature writing (and ecocriticism); and theories of creativity. He also has long-standing interests in the poetry of the Objectivists and the British Poetry Revival. Gavin’s poetry, criticism, and creative non-fiction have appeared in a range of magazines and journals. He is the editor, with Liam Murray Bell, of Writing Urban Space (Zero, 2012), and author of Estate Fragments (Knives, Forks and Spoons, 2014) and Blue Rain (Cinnamon Press, 2018). Gavin is also Aberystwyth’s co-ordinator of Contempo, the Centre for Contemporary Poetry run collaboratively between five UK universities.
